2+2 Educational Opportunities
The University of South Florida Lakeland
partners with Florida public community colleges including Polk
Community College, South
Florida Community College and Hillsborough
Community College-Plant City to provide a 2+2 education. Specifically,
this partnership allows students to obtain their first two years
(Associate of Arts-A.A. or Associate of Science-A.S.) from the
local community college then complete their baccalaureate and/or
graduate degree through USF Lakeland. This collaboration allows
students to obtain a 4-year degree, as well as a graduate degree,
without leaving their community.
Undergraduate Transfer Students
Undergraduate transfer students
must have at least a 2.0 grade point average in all previous college
coursework and be in good standing from the last institution attended.
Students with fewer than 60 credit hours must meet freshman admission
requirements as well as admission requirements for lower level
transfers. Admission requirements for upper level transfers must
be met for students with more than 60 credit hours.
USF accepts transfer credits from institutions that are accredited
by one of the regional accrediting agencies/commissions recognized
by USF at the time the credits are earned. Students with an Associate
of Arts degree from a Florida public community college will be
guaranteed admission into the university. (Please note: limited
access programs still have specific college/program requirements
that must be met as part of admission). For both lower level and
upper level transfers visit the main USF Adult
& Transfer Student Services section for more information.
A.S. to B.S.A.S. Students
USF Lakeland now offers an exciting opportunity
for those students holding an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree
from a Florida public community college. A.S. degree graduates
may now transfer a block of 60 credit hours, regardless of discipline,
into our new A.S. to Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (A.S.
to B.S.A.S.) degree program. This program is designed specifically
for those students who may have been in the workforce for a time
and are interested in furthering their education for future job
progression. The A.S. to B.S.A.S. provides a variety of concentrations
for students to choose from and only requires an additional 60
credit hours of coursework to complete their undergraduate degree.

Transient Students (Cross Enrollment)
Transient students are those who are earning
a degree at a university or college other than USF, but wish to
take a class here to satisfy degree requirements at their own
academic institution. In this case, students should seek the proper
transient student/cross-enrollment forms from their department
in order to obtain approval and transfer credits.
