PAD 6307 - Policy Analysis, Implementation and Program Evaluation (3)
PAD 6417 - Human Resources Management (3)
PAD 6703 - Quantitative Aids for Public Managers (3)
PAD 6710 - Public Information Management (3)

Electives - 9 credit hours

Public Management electives will be offered at USF Lakeland based on need and faculty availability. Three credit hours earned from another academic department may be applied toward your certificate with prior department approval.

» Admissions Criteria

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university. Standardized tests are not required for admission to this certificate. However, should a graduate certificate student subsequently apply for the Master's in Public Administration (MPA) program, the GRE is required.

The Graduate Certificate in Public Management from the University of South Florida (USF) is geared toward those individuals working in the public sector with non-profit organizations or local, state, and federal governmental agencies. This certificate will assist you in improving your public service with new knowledge in budgeting, ethics and public service, public information, political economy, and policy analysis.

» Program Profile

USF’s Graduate Certificate in Public Management is a post-baccalaureate, 18 credit hour certificate program (approximately six courses). At USF Lakeland, it is designed for working individuals so you can maintain your current work and family responsibilities while completing coursework. Two evening courses per semester in a traditional classroom setting will be offered allowing you to complete the certificate in one year.

If you are interested in obtaining a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), you may begin your coursework locally and apply 18 credit hours of certificate courses toward the completion of your degree at USF Tampa. 15 of the 18 credit hours must be Public Administration courses.
