The School Counseling Program will prepare students to become counselors in elementary, middle and/or high schools. Graduates gain general counseling skills plus specialized knowledge about school counseling. This program is designed for students who currently hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate and would also like to obtain certification in school counseling. It provides coursework and knowledge necessary to pass the Florida Guidance and Counseling Certification Exam.

Students who do not currently hold a valid Florida Teaching Certificate but would like to be a school counselor, may also apply. Upon completion of the degree requirements, students will have the knowledge necessary to pass both the Florida Teacher Certification Exam and the Florida Guidance Counseling Certification Exam. A passing score on all sections of the CLAST exam is required for admission.

Mental Health/Community Counseling (60 credit hours)
