Outstanding
Staff Awards Program
Recognition is an important part of the culture at USF. While
we believe in providing employees with regular feedback throughout
the duration of their employment, we also believe in identifying
those individuals within our staff who demonstrate excellence
and performance that supports the overall values of the University.
Each year, the University hosts an “Outstanding Staff
Awards Ceremony” to recognize and celebrate those individuals
who were nominated and selected for the most prestigious award
for staff (USPS and A&P) at USF.
Nominations are solicited from the USF community usually in
January of each calendar year. Individuals are encouraged
to nominate employees who demonstrate the high standards and
excellence expressed in the values statement below:
Values Statement
The University of South Florida values:
- Teaching, research, and service based on the highest
standards of discovery, creativity, and intellectual attainment
- Development of the personal and professional potential
of students, faculty, and staff, and enriching the quality
of campus life
- An ethic of collegiality based on integrity, civility,
academic freedom, professional responsibility, and collaboration
among disciplines and units
- Access to an excellent education
- University/community engagement that increases the
understanding of urban issues and advances
- Cultural and ethnic diversity and global understanding
In order to nominate an individual for this award, the following
criteria must be met:
- The employee must have
at least twelve (12) months of continuous service with USF.
- All nominations must be supported by letters
of endorsement (not to exceed three).
- All nomination
forms must be submitted along with the letters of endorsement
and signed by the Dean/Director.
- A statement outlining the nominee’s outstanding
accomplishments will be required specifying how the accomplishments
have impacted the university.

each year, including the timelines for submittal and the guidelines
