At this time, Special Borrowers cards are not accepted at
the USF Lakeland Library.
Self-renewals are possible and permit to: view a list
of all materials currently checked-out to a specific account,
renew any or all items (some exceptions exist) at one time,
or print a list of the renewed items. Use this form
if there are problems with self-renewal.
Collections
The USF Lakeland Library collections contain books and journals,
in both print and electronic formats, audio-visual materials,
and microforms. Library materials, except for reference books,
journals, microforms, and some reserve materials, are generally
available for circulation to authorized USF users.
Authorized USF users also have access to the collections of all other USF libraries via intercampus loan.
Connect from Home
The USF Library resources are accessible from anywhere and
at anytime. All that is needed is to connect
to either myUSF or the Libraries proxy server.
Distance Learners
Library services are accessible to distance learners.
Intercampus Loan\Interlibrary Loan
- Access to Books or Journals the USF Lakeland Library Does Not
Own
- Books
Pick up the Book ILL form at the front desk or fill the form online.
- Journal articles
Use ILLIad,
an automated ILL management system, to request and receive
electronically the journal articles you need. You can
request with ILLiad articles from journals housed in the
St. Petersburg, Sarasota/New College, FMHI and Health
Sciences Libraries (but not the main Tampa Library) or
from journals not owned by any of the USF Libraries.
Important: when creating your Illiad account, Lakeland
students, faculty and staff must select "Lakeland"
in the "Your Status" field. Lakeland distance
learners should choose "Distance Learner".
Before making an ILL request, please verify in the catalog that your article is not already available electronically or that your book is not located at the USF Lakeland Library.
Instruction
Instructors can request the USF Associate Librarian to come
to their class to teach students how to use the Libraries
resources and services.
PRONTO
PRONTO is an online delivery service for articles from journals in print or microfilm format housed in the Tampa Campus Library. This service is reserved for USF faculty and A&P. PRONTO Books and More is a service where faculty members can request a Tampa Campus Library book or media item to be delivered to their Tampa Campus office. The items cannot be delivered to the Lakeland Campus using this service.
Refworks
Refworks
is an online-based citation management tool. It is available
to all USF students, faculty and staff. Book and journal
article bibliographic information can be downloaded into
Refworks. Citations can then easily be inserted in papers
and reports in the desired format.
Reserves
Reserves are course readings: books, articles, past exams,
syllabi, class notes, etc.
Students:
- Print reserves are available at the front desk at the USF Lakeland Library. Loan periods vary.
- Electronic reserves are available through Blackboard on the class page
Faculty:
- To create a print reserve, see the front desk at the USF Lakeland Library
- To create electronic reserves, fill out the Tampa e-reserves form. Then, send the material to be put up either by courier mail, by email to reserve@lib.usf.edu as an attachment (if already in PDF format) or deliver in person at the Tampa Library. Using the PRONTO service form, you can request articles to be put on e-reserve directly if the journal is housed at the Tampa Library.
Videotape Requests
Faculty can request
videotapes from other USF Libraries to be shown in class. |
