Senior Scholars program seeks instructors
LAKELAND,
FL (August 27, 2007) - The University of South Florida Lakeland Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center is looking for instructors and course ideas for the Senior Scholars fall schedule.
The Senior Scholars Program gives seniors 50+ the opportunity to continue the lifelong learning process in a friendly classroom environment. Classes are held once a week for a six-week semester. Class length is usually two hours, but adjustments can be made based on instructor needs. Past classes have included Computers, Digital Photography, History, Foreign Language, Yoga, Creative Painting, and many more.
No special qualifications or degrees needed to volunteer in the program, just a passion for your subject. Instructors have the choice of creating their own course material or using teaching manuals prepared by the Rath Center staff.
If you are interested in volunteering to teach in the Senior Scholars program, please contact the Rath Center at 863-533-5925 or hsigsbee@lakeland.usf.edu.
