USF Lakeland offers new Fast Track cohort
LAKELAND,
FL (September 11, 2007) - The University of South Florida Lakeland Division of Education announces the start of Fast Track I, a new cohort leading to the master’s degree in educational leadership (M.Ed.). The M.Ed. degree is offered through the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies.
Beginning January 2008 and ending May 2009, the accelerated Fast Track program features three courses per semester over four semesters (16 months).
A cohort is a group of students who complete a degree program together, supporting each other and enhancing the growth of each individual through positive shared experiences.
Benefits of a cohort include guaranteed course offerings each semester, an accelerated four semester format featuring Saturday and online courses, and the chance to network and collaborate with K-12 educators from diverse backgrounds. USF Lakeland offers a convenient location in central Florida, along with USF’s reputation as one of the top three research universities in Florida and one of the top 50 colleges of education in the country.
Fast-Track is open to K-12 educators interested in obtaining a master’s degree in educational leadership (M.Ed.) or to educators with a current master’s degree (in any field) who want to add educational leadership to their Professional Educator’s Certificate. Target enrollment is 25 students.
A Fast Track information session will be held at USF Lakeland on Oct. 2, 2007, at 6 p.m. in LLC 2124/25. For more details, including admission requirements and application information, contact Saul Reyes (863-667-7074 or sreyes1@lakeland.usf.edu) or visit http://www.lakeland.usf.edu/EdLeadership.
