USF Lakeland presents Arts on the Green
LAKELAND,
FL (November 14, 2007) - Artists and art lovers of all ages are invited to the University of South Florida Lakeland’s Arts on the Green on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on the lawn between LAC and LTB.
The theme of this year’s event is “How Art Grows.” Everyone is welcome to experience art from artists of all ages. Students from local schools will display their work. Vendors will also have arts and crafts for sale. Enjoy free food, music and entertainment – and much more.
“Our goal for Arts on the Green this year is to create an event for the students, their families, and the community,” said Racquel Rodriguez, director of the USF Lakeland Activities Board. “By inviting the different schools to participate, we also hope to encourage young students to work hard and to further their education after high school.”
According to Dr. Jan Lloyd, director of student life, “Arts on the Green gives USF Lakeland a way to connect the community with local and student artists from various schools, and a forum for artists to sell their goods. This event enhances our student life programs by offering a cultural perspective and appreciation for the arts.”
