USF Lakeland commencement honors graduates and community leader
LAKELAND,
FL (December 10, 2007) - The University of South Florida Lakeland will recognize the achievements of 84 students at its fall commencement. The ceremony will take place Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Lakeland Center’s Youkey Theatre.
Seventy-three students will receive bachelor's degrees, and 11 will receive master's degrees. Candidates are graduating with degrees in the areas of Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Information Technology. USF President Judy Genshaft will confer the degrees.
The ceremony will feature the presentation of awards to Polk County Commissioner Jack Myers and graduating senior Tara Crum.
Myers will receive the Fall 2007 Distinguished Service Award.
"Jack Myers has been a true friend of USF Lakeland. The future of our community and our institution is bright because of the kind of leadership he has provided," said Dr. Marshall Goodman, VP & CEO of USF Lakeland.

Crum will receive recognition during the ceremony as USF Lakeland's Fall 2007 Outstanding Senior. She was selected for maintaining a high standard of academic integrity and school spirit and service to the University. The 2007 Student Government Association president, Crum will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in general business administration.
