USF Lakeland offers new Nonprofit Management Training Program
LAKELAND,
FL (January 31, 2008) - The University of South Florida Lakeland’s Division of Continuing Education announces the availability of a new Nonprofit Management Training Program. Developed in partnership with the City of Lakeland, this initiative offers short-term learning opportunities for nonprofits that wish to further their education and skills as well as those wishing to enter the nonprofit field.
“A nonprofit organization’s role is to support and actively engage in activities of public or private interest in our communities,” said Dr. Jan Lloyd, director of student life at USF Lakeland. “We believe it is crucial to the success of any nonprofit organization that it have the knowledge, tools and skills needed to grow in an ever-changing environment.”
The Nonprofit Management Training Program offers the following courses:
· Leadership and Governance for Nonprofits
· Nonprofit Financial Management
· Grant Writing
· Program Development and Marketing
Students who complete the four courses will receive a Nonprofit Management Certificate. Those who enroll in individual courses will receive a certificate for that course. USF Lakeland’s Division of Continuing Education strives to provide learning opportunities for high level, quality professional and personal development to the members of the communities it serves. It offers a variety of non credit training programs. Partnerships with community entities are a primary way in which educational needs are identified and programs developed to meet those needs.
