A new bereavement support group will start March 24 at the University of South Florida Lakeland  Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center in Bartow. “From Mourning to Morning” will offer ongoing support for anyone who is grieving the loss of a loved one. Free and open to the public, it will be facilitated by a state licensed, professional therapist from Hope Hospice and Community Services. The group will meet Mondays at 4 p.m. beginning March 24.
Samira K. Beckwith, Hope’s president & CEO says, “Through this support group, you may develop or sharpen your coping skills, break down your feelings of isolation, discover new insights into yourself and talk about your loss with people of similar experience and help others as you receive support and help.”
Dr. Rosemarie Lamm, USF Lakeland Rath Center director, says, “’From Mourning to Morning’ is a welcome addition to the other three support groups that we facilitate through the Rath Center. They include Beginning Alzheimer's Education and Support, Caregiver Support, and Parkinson’s Disease Support. Hope Hospice and Community Services is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3)-status community-based health care agency, providing a variety of services to all people with complex needs related to transitions, loss and end of life.
