LAKELAND, FL (March 12, 2008) - To celebrate Women’s History Month, the University of South Florida Lakeland presents “Leading the March: A Discussion with Successful Women of Central Florida” March 19, 5 p.m. -7 p.m. Free and open to the public, it takes place in the Lakeland Technology Building auditorium on the PCC/USF Lakeland campus.

Part of USF Lakeland’s Annual Diversity Panel Series, the event features a panel discussion of strategies and best practices for women in the work force.

Panelists include:
  • Dr. Naomi Boyer, director, Teaching & Learning Technolgies, USF Lakeland

  • Dr. Rosemarie Lamm, director, Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center, USF Lakeland

  • Alnieta McKenzie, ESE resource teacher, Polk County School Board

  • Dr. Alice Murray, assistant VP, Campus Facilities & Education Outreach, USF Lakeland

  • Dr. Orathai Northern, English instructor, USF Lakeland

“Leading the March will showcase the outstanding accomplishments women are achieving in Central Florida,” says student Janette McDonald, who helped plan the event. She will serve as co-host, along with student Diane Boczkowski.

“It was planned so successful women could share their stories as professional, moms, wives, students and as women who have seen and experienced life's challenges to inspire and empower others, specifically our students and community,” says McDonald.
