LAKELAND,
FL (March 21, 2003) - The University of South Florida's Lakeland campus administrators, staff, faculty and Land Acquisition Committee members toured more prospective land Tuesday, March 18, 2003. The prospective land, offered by Clear Spring Land Co., LLC, is located on Hwy 60 W in Bartow. After a brief presentation by Clear Springs Land Co., LLC representatives, the USF group traveled to the site. Members were met by City of Bartow leaders and workers, welcoming the USF group to the Bartow site.
"The site tour today re-affirmed, for us, the fact that we are going to have a very tough decision to make," stated Dr. Alice Murray, Vice-President of Academic Affairs at the Lakeland campus. "We have been offered five excellent pieces of land, each with its own appeal and advantages."
The Clear Springs site is one of five offers of land received during the local campus's recent request for proposals. This makes the fourth of the five offered land sites to be toured during the review process. The fifth and final site, offered by the Williams Corp. in Lakeland will be toured Monday, March 31, 2003.
