LAKELAND,
FL (January 11, 2007) - This Sunday, January 14, a local radio station launches a new weekly talk show, “The Power of Knowledge,” hosted by Dr. Marshall Goodman, VP/CEO of the University of South Florida Lakeland. The program will air on WLKF-AM 1430 at 11:30 each Sunday morning.
The new show is intended to provide an opportunity to spotlight a variety of issues related to the new “knowledge economy” and the various educational, social economic and political dynamics that help to shape it.
According to Goodman, “This is an exciting time for central Florida, and I expect this radio program to help all of us better understand what is happening now and – just as important – anticipate what lies ahead.”
Goodman’s first guest will be Dr. Judy Genshaft, President of the University of South Florida. Future guests will include representatives of education, government, and economic development from the local scene as well as the state and national levels.
The program is produced by WLKF as a public service. The projected listening audience is as high as 30,000 in the Lakeland area. USF Lakeland intends to provide access to recordings of archived programs online.
