USF Lakeland Host Diversity Leadership Event
LAKELAND,
FL (April 11, 2007) - A national panel of young leaders will address an audience at the University of South Florida Lakeland on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at 5:45 p.m., in the Lakeland Technology Building auditorium on the PCC/USF campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel, part of USF Lakeland's Annual Diversity Panel Series, consists of African American, Latino, and Native American leaders from fields such as business, engineering, and technology. According to Dr. Nathan Thomas, Director of Diversity at USFL, topics include strategies for personal growth and professional success and the promotion of local diversity: "This is a great opportunity for our students and others in the community to network with and learn from young and gifted leaders who have realized success in other arenas."
Thomas notes that the panelists will also be speaking at Kathleen High School earlier on Thursday afternoon. Following the USF Lakeland event, a VIP reception will be held at Michael Holley Chevrolet at 7:30 p.m. The reception is sponsored by the Central Florida Business Diversity Council and Wells Lending Corp.
For more information on the panel or reception, please contact the USF Lakeland Office of Diversity at (863) 667-7710.
