of 87 students at commencement Dec. 16. The ceremony will take place
at 7 p.m. in the Youkey Theatre of the Lakeland Center, 301 W. Lime

10-14-2005 • Carnival to kick-off USF Homecoming celebration
As
the University of South Florida Bulls prepare to face the West Virginia
Mountaineers Saturday (Oct. 22) in Raymond James Stadium, USF Lakeland
will host a week-long series of Homecoming events. The week will
be highlighted by a free Homecoming Carnival on Thursday from 4
to 8 p.m. The free, Student Government-sponsored carnival is an
outdoor, alcohol-free festival of food, music and family-oriented
activities on the school's front lawn. Read

Technology
and the Information Age have placed new demands on the way businesses
are run, students are educated and people communicate with one another;
similarly, the very nature and role of the library system has been
transformed through technological advancements. This month University
of South Florida Lakeland Associate Librarian, Catherine Lavalée
-Welch will provide insight into these transformations during an
Information Technology Colloquium. The event takes place from 12
to 1 p.m. Oct. 19 in room LAC 1280 at the USF Lakeland campus. The
event is free and open to the public.

09-16-2005 • USF Lakeland to honor Hispanic Heritage with celebration
To
celebrate diversity found on the campus and in the community, the
University of South Florida Lakeland and its Student Government
Association (SGA) will host the kick-off for a monthlong tribute
to Hispanic heritage beginning Wednesday, September 21. USF Lakeland
SGA formed a partnership with Polk Community College to co-host
the free event that will feature Latin music, salsa dancers, and
authentic Latin cuisine from 11 am to 1 pm on the Lakeland campus.
