USF-Lakeland campus will be hosting a special Senior Academy series during
the month of May. Senior Academy, a part of the Division of Senior Programs
affiliated with the Elderhostel Institute Network, is a membership organization

Dr.
Warna Gillies, Education Professor at USF Lakeland, was recently featured
in the Winter 2001 issue of the prestigious EDUCATION journal. First published
in 1880 and known to be the oldest education journal in the U.S., EDUCATION
is made up of “articles dealing with original investigations and
theoretical papers of every aspect of teaching and learning.” Read

Assist in School Administrators
Dr.
L. Preston Mercer, Campus Executive Officer, announces that the Wallace-Reader’s
Digest Funds have awarded a $45,000 Ventures in Leadership grant to the
University of South Florida’s Lakeland campus to create an Administrators’

to 9-11 Heroes
The
USF-Lakeland Student Government Association will sponsor a postcard writing
effort to thank some of the heroes of September 11th. Students, faculty
and staff will have the opportunity to fill out a USF postcard of "thanks"

a 14% increase in enrollment this semester! The total enrollment figure
of 1140 students is 23% ahead of projections made for the upcoming semester
