08-12-2004 • USF Lakeland To Offer New Vocational Rehabilitation Course
The
University of South Florida Lakeland campus will offer a new course this
fall entitled, "Career & Lifestyle Assessment" designed to assist Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselors in their professional growth. This course offers
3 credit hours and will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-8:50 p.m.
in room RSC 6300 on the USF Lakeland campus, located at 3433 Winter Lake

08-07-2004 • Dr. Gregory Paveza Joins USF Lakeland
Dr.
Gregory Paveza will be taking on the role of Interim Associate Vice
President of Academic Affairs at USF Lakeland. Dr. Paveza, a professor
in the School of Social Work, is a teacher and scholar of national reputation.
Dr. Paveza just completed his one-year Fellowship with the American
Council on Education (ACE) at the Northern Illinois University and he
is the recent past president of the USF Faculty Senate.

08-07-2004 • USF Lakeland Professor Receives Fulbright to Ireland
Dr. Arthur Karshmer, Chair and Professor
at the University of South Florida Lakeland, received a Fulbright Senior Specialists grant
in Information Technology at Dublin City University. He returns to USF Lakeland on
Monday, August 9 after spending the entire month of July in Dublin.

Four Corners Area Educational Leadership Cohort
The
University of South Florida Lakeland campus will be offering the Master's
in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) program in the Four Corners area starting
this Fall 2004. An informative session will be held on Tuesday, August
10, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, 1000
Dunson Road, Davenport. USF Lakeland faculty and staff who will be on
hand to present information relating to program requirements, application
procedures, financial aid and scholarships.

Beginner Computers - August 4 (6 weeks) meets every Wednesday, 1:00 -3:00 p.m.

to help professionals of all levels improve their writing skills. This
is a 2-day workshop with hands-on group dynamics offering individualized

July 12-13 from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on the USF Lakeland campus located

University of South Florida's Lakeland campus and Polk Community College
announce that the groundbreaking for the Joint-Use Technology Resources
Center will be
held on Wednesday, May 19, at 1:00 p.m. Polk Community College President,
J. Larry Durrence, University of South Florida President, Judy Genshaft,
and Senators JD Alexander and Paula Dockery along with other Polk Legislative
Delegation members and Campus/Board Trustee members from each institution
